To the Broadway church of Christ Ministry System
The Broadway church of Christ has a long history of
service to God, the church, the city of Lubbock, and the world. That
history goes back more than 100 years as Broadway has been an
innovative leader in ministry among the churches of Christ in America
and around the world. Broadway has always desired to be a light among
the nations, beginning right here in Lubbock, Texas.
We are glad you are here, and we want you to be an important part
of the Broadway family as we begin a new millennium. We
believe your participation will help the light of Christ shine all the
brighter through this church to Lubbock and the world.
The Broadway ministry system has many opportunities for service in
the Kingdom of God. All of Broadway's ministries are identified under
three primary categories of service: World Evangelism, Church
Edification, and Organizational Management. (See Chart)
Opportunities for outreach abound within the evangelistic
ministries. There are benevolence ministries, living the love of
Christ in action to those with needs of a physical nature. We
have ministries in which you can "tell the old, old
story" that means so much to each of us. We even have opportunities to
touch lives around the world through our missions ministries.
The ministries of Church Edification are vital to the growth and
health of the Broadway body. Educational opportunities abound, as we
teach in classrooms and in daily life situations. A
happy family is a family that cares for each other.
Fellowship-oriented ministries help us provide opportunities to encourage and care for the
body. In addition, a church that is lifted up is one that lifts up
Christ. The Broadway worship ministries strive to plan and lead meaningful heartfelt worship
of our God and Savior.
A healthy body must have servant souls who work in the back
ground to keep the body functioning smoothly. Maintenance ministries
may not be the most visible, but they are just as vital as any other
ministries in the body of Christ. Safety, security and stability are
the aims of our Organizational Maintenance ministries.
This catalogue is designed to help you understand the mission of our
ministries and the services they perform for God, the church, and the
lost. Look over the catalogue. Find your place of service in the Broadway
family. Become a part of the family, a part of the tradition of
service, a part of
the body that is "ever becoming a people of
love."
