Missions - England - Newsletter

The past two months have really flown by; even faster than usual. The preparations for the biggest event ever attempted at the Washington Church of Christ are well underway. The initial response of people has been absolutely incredible. We actually have people coming to us asking if they can be involved in the Fayre. It is really exciting, and already we have made many new contacts.

The concept of the Bible Fayre is simple: we want to transport as many people as we possibly can back in time and space to Jerusalem AD 33. When we get them there they will be able to hear the greatest teacher that ever taught. They will be able to hear the words of Jesus. He will speak to them as if they were really there. It is our dream and prayer that their hearts will be touched by his message in the way people were first touched by the gospel.

In the month of May the men of the congregation began meeting for breakfast every 2 weeks on Saturday morning. This has proven a great blessing and has been well-attended. It is our desire that God use this time to strengthen and uplift the men as they serve God. The ladies have continued to meet in the evenings, but the morning meetings have allowed more men to be able to attend.

On the 2nd of June we had a day of kite making at the church building. This was during the week when the children were having a break from school. Steve Marchant taught the class and the kites will be flown on the 3rd of July at a Kite festival with an expected 100,000 visitors. The children have used designs intended to advertise for the upcoming Bible Fayre. Steve also made a huge kite that will carry a 30 foot banner advertising the Fayre.

From this month the newsletter will be posted on the Broadway Internet site at http://www.Broadway-church.com with full graphics. The computer version will go out as text only. Next month will be a special edition with lots of pictures and news about the Bible Fayre. Thank you all for your support and prayers. God is truly blessing the people of Washington, England.
